The F-104G is a European version of the F-104 C, which is used as a daytime battlecraft by USAF. It is very similar to the F-104 C, but is multi-purpose, separated by an airplane feature that can fly under all weather conditions. Five loading points were added to the body of the F-104 G, one under the body, two at the wing tips and two under the wing. These paylons can carry 1808 kg of external load, including four infrared guided AIM-9 "Sidewinder" fuses. Turkey is one of the first countries to receive F-104 Gs within MAP program. In preparation for the development of F-104s, on April 25, 1963, 144th FILO was established in the 4.Ana Jet Base in Ankara Mürted (Akıncı). On 10 May I963, the first 15 F-104Gs arrived by sea and were delivered to the 144th Fleet in July of the same year. In July 1963 there were two TF-104Gs and in 1964 Canadair-built 18 F-104Gs and two TF-104Gs. These planes were followed in 1965 by five Canadair-built F-104Gs. All of these aircraft were allocated to the same fleet. In 1968, 3 F-104G and 1 TF-104G were received from USAF stocks.
The aircraft with the number 65-7190, which is exhibited vertically in our park, was obtained from Germany and flew at the 193th Fleet Command between 07.09.1981 -03.09.1991. Total flight is 2166 hours. I was given a park as a memorial plane.
The aircraft with the number 66-6667 on display in the park area was obtained from Germany and flew on 191. and 192. Fleet Commands between 20.01.1982 and 29.12.1987. He was on duty at the 192th Squadron Command on January 2, 1982, and his class B was not damaged. He followed the reference. I was given a park as a memorial plane.
